I signed up to find out for myself.

A couple weeks ago I mentioned on my blog that I would make good on one of my 2024 goals and sign up at a second Ontario online casino. In that post, I revealed the brand I picked was Betty Casino. I also said I’d be signing up there soon, and I’d give you my opinion on the experience of registering, depositing, and the welcome offer.

Well, I did it! As promised, I’m going to share my first time experience with you. This will include my honest thoughts/opinion info on:

• Betty itself
• Registration
• First deposit and available payment methods
• Claiming and using the welcome offer
• Games library and my first game experience
• First withdrawal experience

• Loyalty program and “Betty Coins”

👩‍💻Mia’s Note: At this point and time I’m not going to compare my first time Betty experience to PlayOJO. I want to play at Betty Casino a little longer first. Later, I’ll create a post that will compare the two Ontario online casinos fairly to let you know which one I think is better overall.

My Betty Casino Experience

For starters, here’s a couple of tidbits about Betty Casino to give you an idea of what the brand is all about.

• Betty Casino launched as an online casino in Ontario in 2022.
• It is licensed and regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and holds an active iGaming Ontario license.
• Betty.ca is operated by Betty Gaming CA and its headquarters is in Ontario (which I like). Specifically, the company is registered at 66 Wellington Street West, Toronto, TD Bank Tower.
• Though Betty online casino is headquartered in Toronto, the group that runs Betty is a global team (with locations in Canada, the US, and Bulgaria), and has “10+ years of combined online casino expertise”.
• Betty’s core values are “happiness, integrity, and inclusivity”.

According to Betty, its mission is to build a safe online casino experience for “all slot lovers”. The brand is dedicated to delivering an online slots (and online casino) focused experience, breaking from the mould of the many other Ontario online casinos that concentrate more on sports bettors than casino players.

Although I’m still new to Betty Casino, I can say that so far it seems to be living up to its mission. This is 100% not a place for sports bettors, and is fully geared toward online slots players.

Betty Casino Sign Up/Registration

Signing up at Betty Casino was a quick and easy process for me. All in all, I’d say it took less than 2 minutes to complete (I don’t know the exact time it took, because I had to take screenshots for this post, which obviously made the process longer for me 😆).  

I signed up on my desktop (my preferred device for online casinos). If you prefer, you can also sign up on mobile via your phone/tablet’s web browser. Though, FYI – when I signed up (and at the time I’m writing this) there was no dedicated Betty Casino mobile app. Just wanted to mention that in case that’s a deal breaker for you.

I began the registration process by clicking the yellow “Join Betty” tab at the top right-hand corner. I was expecting to begin entering information right from the get-go, as is the common first step with most online casino registrations. However, that’s not the case with Betty. The first thing I was asked to do was to choose my Welcome Offer. I had 9 to choose from. That said, while it’s a good welcome offer, don’t get too excited. They’re not unique offers. Essentially, you get 100 Free Spins, and you can pick 1 of 9 slots to play them on.  I picked Sweet Bonanza.

Once I chose the welcome offer, I then had 15 minutes to complete registration to get the offer. It surprised me that there was a time limit, but whatever. Like I said before, it doesn’t take long to complete the registration steps.

From this point, I provided all the requested information in the next steps (there’s 9 of them).

The requested information includes all the typical stuff you’re asked for when signing up at an Ontario online casino:

• Email,
• Set password
• Mobile number
• Full name
• Address
• Birthday
• Gender
• Occupation
• Checking off/confirming all the legal jazz (e.g., I’m 19+, I read and understood the T&Cs, etc.)

In the final verification step, you also have the option to set limits, I didn’t (but limits can be set any time). You can also choose to allow them to send you notifications and promo stuff, which I did (this can also be changed at any time from your account).

After clicking “Next” on this final step, I waited a few seconds for all my info to process and then a screen popped up telling me I was verified, and it was time to make my first deposit to claim my welcome offer.

👩‍💻Mia’s Note: Although I did receive an email from Betty Casino confirming my registration as soon as it was complete, it served only as a confirmation. I wasn’t required to click a link or anything in the email to verify my account.

Betty Casino First Deposit

Naturally, I made my first deposit immediately. I didn’t want to lose my opportunity to claim my Betty Casino welcome offer. I clicked the “Deposit” tab directly from the registration verification screen and was taken to the deposit page.

The Betty Casino minimum first deposit is $20 to claim the welcome offer, which I knew before signing up. I didn’t want to deposit more than the minimum, so that’s the one I selected.

On the next screen, I was provided with the Betty Casino payment options. These included:

• Visa (debit/credit)
• Interac
• Mastercard (debit/credit)

I chose Interac. This was a new online casino payment option for me, as I’ve previously only used Paysafecard.

This was a quick and easy payment process. In essence, I sent my deposit amount as an e-transfer to Betty. It went through in seconds, and I was ready to enjoy my welcome offer.

Betty Casino Welcome Offer

One of the main reasons I chose Betty as the second Ontario online casino I wanted to try is that there are no wagering requirements on the promotions at this casino. I like knowing that when I claim a bonus, anything I win from it is mine immediately.

The welcome offer I claimed (as previously mentioned) was:

100 Free Spins on Sweet Bonanza with zero wagering requirements.

Sweet Bonanza was my choice from the 9 “custom” welcome offer options available. I chose this game because it’s the first online slot I played from Pragmatic Play and its one of my favourites of theirs.

This free spins offer functions the same way as all the ones I’ve claimed before at OJO. I confirmed I wanted to play the free spins, the game loaded, and then I played them all the way through.

Each spin has a value of $0.20, which is the game’s minimum bet. During my free spins, I didn’t land the game’s actual free spins feature, but I did win a total of $15.73 by the end of it. I was perfectly happy with this win since I didn’t spend a cent to score it. 😁

Also, during my free spins I was racking up the Betty Coins (Betty’s virtual currency) and accumulated 2,610 by the end of my spins. I’ll tell you more about Betty Coins later.

Betty Casino Games and Playing Experience

Betty proclaims itself to be the “#1 slots casino in Ontario”. While I don’t know if that’s true, I will say that, from what I’ve seen, it does cater to slots players like no other casino I’ve seen. This is likely because Betty Casino games are predominantly slots. As such, all its promotions and loyalty program are slots focused. Currently, Betty offers over 350 games, and you can find slots from a wide range of providers, including big names like Pragmatic Play, Blueprint, Games Global, Play’n GO, NetEnt, and many others.

Betty slots include what you’d expect like classic fruit-style machines, modern day video slots, progressive jackpot slots, branded slots, and exclusive titles. You can easily find the different types of slots offered. For starters, you can browse the different categories. For instance, Betty’s categories include (but are not limited to):

• Only on Betty
• Most Popular
• New Releases
• Drops & Wins
• Games by Blueprint
• Megaways Hits
• Expanding Wilds
• Feature Buy
• 10¢ Spins

There’s also a search bar at the top of the game’s page. I like this, because it’s a fast way to type in the name of a game to see if it’s available on the site.  Another feature I like that Betty Casino has is the “Surprise Me” option. When you’re logged in and you’re in the games section, you’ll find an area where you can click a “Surprise Me” button. Betty will randomly pick a game for you to play.

Other types of games I’ve seen on their site include: Slingo, Video Bingo, and Crash games, the latter of which I have not yet tried (but am interested in playing!). Beyond that however, you won’t find much else. There are no card games, table games, or a live casino here. That’s fine by me, because I knew that before signing up. In case you didn’t know this, now you do. 😊

The first game I played at Betty Casino, beyond the welcome offer is my favourite from Play’n GO, Sweet Alchemy (yup, I’m that predictable and not ashamed of it 🤣). It was a fine experience and ran pretty smoothly. It froze on me once, but to be fair, I think that might be more my computer’s fault than anything else. My laptop isn’t the newest on the market. Next, I’m looking forward to playing one of Betty’s exclusive slots.

Other than that, for my first experience I found the site to have a smooth UX and clean navigation. Nothing is hard to find and it’s easy to access games, the home screen, and my account at any time. It’s not a flashy site, and I like that. I find the less stuff there is moving on a page and the less ads thrown in my face, the happier I am.

👩‍💻Mia’s Note: I didn’t need to download any additional programs (e.g., Xpoint Verify) to verify my location while playing at Betty, as is a requirement with PlayOJO. I simply granted the site access to know my location while I was playing.

Betty Casino withdrawal experience

One of the big things Betty claims, is it offers fast withdrawals in “5 minutes”. I was reallllly curious to find out if this was true and had to test it out for myself. 

After playing a few rounds on Sweet Alchemy, I decided to withdraw $10 (I could have withdrawn as little as $1). I did this by going to my account to request a withdrawal. I had the option of withdrawing via Interac or Visa debit/credit. I chose Interac since it’s the method I used for my first deposit, I didn’t want to enter in card details, and I was curious to see how easy/fast this option would take.

It. Was. Fast.

After verifying my email, I made the withdrawal request. I received the withdrawal request email confirmation from Betty at 9:07am (seconds after I made it). I then received an email from my bank at 9:13 am notifying me that the money was in my account. 

So, the Betty Casino withdrawal processing time for me wasn’t 5 minutes, it was 6 minutes. I guess I can forgive them 1 minute. 🤣 Seriously, that was super-fast! There are also no fees. Needless to say, I’m impressed. Also, I love using Interac as a casino payment.

👩‍💻Mia’s Note: If you have claimed the welcome offer and used it, prior to making your first Betty Casino withdrawal you do need to make at least one real money wager (of any amount) on any of their games. It’s part of their terms and conditions.

Other Stuff About Betty

The following is a taste of info about other notable stuff Betty has. I’m not going to touch on these topics too much for now, because I haven’t really investigated/experienced them to any degree. I’ll likely talk about them more in a future post when I actually use them and have a better understanding of the benefits (if any) they offer.

Betty Casino Promotions

At the time of this writing, I’ve only claimed the Betty Casino Welcome Offer. That said, this Ontario online casino offers several promotions and runs different promotional campaigns all the time, including regular slots tournaments.

Among the promotions I saw included:

• Second and third deposit bonus offers
• Daily and weekly Betty Coins reload deposit offers
• Free spins deposit offers
• Slots tournaments
• Game of the week free spins deposit offer

At the moment, I’m mostly interested in claiming the second and third deposit offers.

Betty Casino Loyalty Program

Betty’s loyalty program is called “Betty Status”.  You don’t require any special permission to join. You’re automatically enrolled in it and can climb up multiple gem-themed levels simply by betting real money on games.

You start out just as “Member” and the next status (the one I currently have) is Amethyst. Betty isn’t subtle about when you achieve a new status either. I was informed right in the middle of the game I was playing. 😆

From what I understand, to hold on to your status, you need to collect at least 1 box (I think you get boxes from playing and collecting coins) within 28 days. To upgrade to the next level, you’ll need to collect 5 boxes. If you fail to maintain your status, you drop down a level.

Each level supposedly unlocks more perks, but I don’t know what those are as I haven’t moved up any levels. So far though, I have no complaints about Betty Status.

Betty Coins

Betty Coins are Betty Casino’s virtual currency. You can use these coins in the Betty Shop to purchase (trade them in) for perks like free spins on select games and even cash.

There are different ways that you can collect Betty Coins, including:

• Making real money bets on games
• Claiming a free daily gift of coins (can be once per day)
• Spinning the Daily Wheel (can be claimed once per day)
• Winning them by playing Betty Coin slots (see my note below)

So far, Betty Coins are cool with me. I don’t mind getting this extra perk as part of my real money playing experience.

👩‍💻Mia’s Note: I also discovered that you can use your Betty Coins to play select games to win more Betty Coins, kind of like a social casino.  I haven’t done this yet and will likely write about this experience when I do. 😁

Betty Casino Responsible Gaming

Responsible gambling is taken seriously at Betty. You can easily set limits (e.g., deposit, loss, playtime), take a timeout, and self-exclude at any time via your account.

They also offer help via Connex Ontario, including access to their helpline.

My Final Thoughts

That’s it for my first experience and Betty Casino review. Overall, I’m impressed by Betty and am looking forward to playing there more and sharing my thoughts on my future experiences.
